Engine Bay Detailing in Los Angeles

An engine bay collects road dust, oil mist and leaf debris in a way nobody notices until the hood is up in front of a buyer or a mechanic. Cleaning it is partly cosmetic and partly practical: a clean bay makes a new leak obvious the moment it starts.

It's also the service where technique matters most, because the wrong approach — a pressure washer aimed at a connector, degreaser left to dry on plastic — creates problems that cost real money.

Mobile engine cleaning done conservatively

We use controlled moisture, not volume. Sensitive components — alternator, fuse box, air intake, exposed connectors and any exposed electronics — are covered before anything is sprayed. Product is applied in sections, agitated with brushes sized to the space, and rinsed with low pressure.

On hybrids and EVs we're more conservative still, keeping to targeted cleaning of accessible plastics rather than a general rinse.

Our process

  • Engine cooled completely before any product is applied — never on a hot engine
  • Battery terminals, intake, fuse box and exposed connections covered
  • Loose leaves and debris removed from cowl area and hood channels by hand
  • Citrus-based degreaser applied in sections and agitated with detail brushes
  • Low-pressure rinse followed by compressed air to drive water out of crevices
  • Non-greasy satin dressing on plastics and hoses; painted surfaces wiped and sealed
  • Underside of the hood, hinges and the strut tower area finished by hand

Who this service is for

Sellers get the clearest return — a clean bay signals a maintained car and removes an easy negotiating point. Owners of older vehicles use it diagnostically, because fresh oil weeping past a valve cover gasket is impossible to spot in a bay caked with twenty years of grime.

Enthusiasts with show cars or bay-visible builds book it for the finish. And anyone whose car spends time parked under trees in Los Feliz or Pasadena eventually needs the leaf litter cleared out of the cowl before it blocks drainage.

What we won't do

We won't spray high pressure into an engine bay, we won't apply glossy silicone dressing that turns into a dust magnet, and we won't clean around an active fluid leak and call it done. If we find something worth your mechanic's attention, we'll photograph it and tell you.
