Car Odor Elimination & Ozone Treatment in Los Angeles

Odor is not a smell floating in the air; it's a material sitting somewhere in the vehicle. Nicotine tar on the headliner, milk in the carpet padding, dander in the seat foam, mildew in the HVAC evaporator case. Masking sprays cover it for a day and then it returns, because the source is still there.

Our approach is source first, ozone second. Skipping the cleaning step and going straight to ozone is the most common reason people say ozone "didn't work" for them.

An honest word about what ozone can do

Ozone oxidizes odor molecules it can physically reach. That makes it genuinely effective on airborne and surface-level odor after the source has been removed. It is not a universal solution.

If liquid has soaked into carpet padding or seat foam, if smoke residue has saturated a headliner over years, or if there is mold growth inside the ventilation system, ozone alone will not resolve it — and any company promising a guaranteed permanent fix on those cases is overselling. Results depend on the source, how long it has been there, and how deeply it penetrated. We assess first and tell you what improvement is realistic.

Odors we treat most often

  • Cigarette, cigar and cannabis smoke absorbed into the headliner, trim and vents
  • Pet odor from dander and oils in upholstery and carpet
  • Spilled milk, food and drinks that have gone into carpet padding
  • Mildew from damp floor mats, a leaking sunroof drain or a wet trunk well
  • Gym and body odor built up in cloth seats over time
  • Lingering smells in vehicles bought used, where the history isn't known

Our odor removal process

Diagnosis

We locate the source. That may mean lifting mats, checking under the spare tire, inspecting sunroof drains, and smelling the vents with the fan running.

Source removal

Hot water extraction on carpets and cloth, steam on hard surfaces and headliner-safe cleaning where the material allows it. This is where most of the improvement comes from.

HVAC treatment

If the smell is strongest when the fan is on, the evaporator case is involved. We treat the ventilation system through the intake so the ozone or treatment circulates where the odor lives.

Ozone cycle

A generator runs in the sealed cabin for a controlled period. Nobody occupies the vehicle during treatment.

Airing out

The car is fully ventilated afterward. There's a distinct post-ozone smell that dissipates within a few hours — we don't hand a car back before it has aired.

Safety and aftercare

Ozone must not be inhaled at treatment concentrations. Treatment is done with the vehicle unoccupied and closed, and the cabin is ventilated thoroughly before anyone gets in. Leave windows down for a while after we leave if the car is parked somewhere secure.

Some vehicles benefit from a second cycle a few days later, particularly heavy smoke cases. We'll tell you at handover if we think yours is one of them.
